Lancaster University's very own Great Hall is said to be haunted.

 

Although only a few sightings have been recounted, the Great Ghosts lurk the hallways making sure the porters don't ever feel lonely on their nightshift. It may sound like a friendly companionship as the ghosts are what keep the security fit and healthy by chasing them up and down the corridor. Unluckily for the staff, the Great Hall building is sound proof, meaning screams of terror won't be heard by passers-by.

 

No one knows why the spirits linger in this building. Are they founding members of the University planning to attend every graduation? Or previous owners of the once farmland hoping to reclaim their territory?
